Garuda Indonesia open flight route Kualanamu -Silangit, North Sumatra as an effort to strengthen its network as well as encourage an increase in tourism and business in the province.
“The opening of these Kualanamu-Silangit, not only as a business strategy, but also to help boost tourist visits to Lake Toba which is used as one of the 10 main destinations of tourism in Indonesia,” said VP of Garuda Indonesia Sumatera1 Region, Shamsuddin Jusuf Souib in Medan, on Thursday August 17, 2016
He said that after the inauguration of the maiden flight Kualanamu-Silangit-Kualanamu in Kualanamu, Deliserdang.
Flights on the route was serviced every day by using ATR72-600 aircraft with a capacity of 70 passengers in economy class.
Flights from Kuala Namu Airport at 13:20 pm and arrive in Silangit 14:00 pm, while from Silangit at 14:35 pm and arrived at Kualanamu at 15:20 pm.
“As SOE, Garuda supports economic development and tourism continues to develop routes that are needed both for domestic and overseas,” he said.
For the country, especially the city like Lhokseumawe in Sumatra, Nias, Aceh, low Kualanamu-Silangit is a solution to be able to visit Lake Toba with a faster time period.
